up-cycled table & chairs

On Sat I collected my table & chairs. Ian gave the table top a quick sand and I applied one coat of teak oil. Really pleased with the result and hopefully we can get to use it this summer. We've had good weather today apart from one downpour early this morning. Enjoy your weekend. Amanda x

growth spurt

I've finally booked my holiday, a narrow boat for the first week of October (57ft this time!) We collect the boat from Sydney Wharf in Bath, so exited! Here are a couple of pictures taken in my back garden last week, all the rain we've had has helped! I have still got my veg patch (eight by six) and have added some grow bags in nice wooden surrounds to blend in. The courgettes are growing in the one in the picture. All the rain meant some of my tomato plants were ruined before they got into the veg patch, but I have about 8 so that should be enough for the three of us! The purple jalapeno plants I grew from plugs are growing well in my veg patch and I have tons of green/purple chillies everywhere. Even the tomato plants have flowers on but I doubt if they will give such a good crop this year, not much sunshine! Anyway enjoy the rest of your week and garden or craft project. Amanda x

RHS Wisley re-visited

Housework finished, washing dry, ironing (well that will have to wait) and a pile of un-finished craft projects on the go so now to come back to blog land and get back on track! I just don’t know where the time goes, do you or is it just me? The older I get the quicker the week seems to fly by!   So with getting older what better way to update you on recent happenings in my life with my recent visit (or should I say re-visited) birthday day out to RHS Wisley with my sister Danielle back on the 25 th May. So here in pictures are some of my favourite parts of Wisley. I’ve got so much to blog about to catch up but that will have to wait for another day. Have a great weekend. cup cakes

As we are having a family get-together in London on Monday I thought I'd make cup cakes properly and here is the first tester batch. Obviously we had to try them and they are lovely. The sponge is vanilla and very moist. We have saved some for tomorrow for the three of us as Ian is working Monday + Tuesday. I'm busy cutting and glueing more flags tonight ready for 24 cup cakes to be made tomorrow. Have fun this weekend for your own Diamond Jubilee celebrats. Amanda x
